According to the Japan Automobile Dealers Association (JADA) report, the number of second hand cars sold in 2021 was 3,728,751 units in total. The number was down 2.7% from 2021. This is the second year again the used car sales have decreased lower than the previous year’s result due to the shortage of vehicles by Covid-19.
Before 2021 May, used car sales were very positive in reaction to the previous year’s result due to Covid-19 pandemic. However, the new car supply decreased due to the shortage of semiconductors, and monthly sales went negative from June to December.
