According to the Chile National Automobile Industry Association (ANAC), sales of new cars (except buses and other heavy-duty vehicles) for the first 3 quarters of 2021 increased by 297,273 vehicles (YoY 80.0% up). ANAC says the increase is due to the recovery of their domestic economy and a lot of companies have chosen automotives as a transportation for their business safely and comfortably.

In new vehicle sales by manufacturer in the first 3 quarters, the top five manufacturers were Chevrolet (10.0% share), Hyundai (6.9%), Nissan (6.8%), Suzuki (5.7%), and Chery Automobile (5.7%). All of the top 15 manufactures have increased in sales compared to last year. Chevrolet “SAIL” (6,408 units) and commercial vehicle “N400 MAX” (3,565 units) were the top sellers by type. Nissan “VERSA” (5,380 units) and the NEW NAVARA pickup (4,723 units) were increased as well.

ANAC had planned new vehicle sales of 380,000 vehicles in 2021, but revised it upward due to the recovery in domestic economic activity to 400,000 units. The number is very close to their own record of 417,038 vehicles in 2018.
